Once in a blue moon I get asked about my skin and my skin care routine and for YEARS it was pretty basic… a cleanser, then a moisturizer, and then maybe a face mask once a month. But between getting older and having my face done up a lot, it was time to improve and add some steps to my routine. Now I’m not on the Korean level of skincare where there’s 15 steps/products; however, my skin is thriving with my 5-step routine. As I was researching, I realized how many black-owned skincare lines there were and I got excited! So, the products below are from different brands, not just a system, and I will admit 2 products in this list are NOT black-owned, but the majority of them are.

No make-up face

Cleanser:

Glow’d Essentials Sea Moss Infused Facial Wash (www.glowdessentials.com

Easy to use and has a great lather factor. Can’t lie if my facial wash doesn’t lather, I feel like it isn’t working. LOL The Sea Moss facial wash provides a really deep clean without making your face hurt or feel scratched up by little rocks. I even have my husband using it. You WILL need to follow up with either the rest of your routine or moisturize not too long after using, because this product provides a deep clean.

Toner/ Witch Hazel:

Floral Witch Hazel (www.mintandmajor.com) (woman owned,  NOT black-owned)

Recently, I started learning the benefits of witch hazel and knew it was needed in the routine. Bruh… it tightens pores, removes dirt my cleanser may have left behind, and reduces inflammation. I bought this a while ago at a pop-up shop that was held with a local blogger/influencer @living_alexis, so it may not be available anymore. Still check them out. If not, rose and floral scented Witch Hazel is available just about anywhere.

Replenishing Toner:

Pureuphorix Replenishing Toner (www.pstru.com)

This is my final pick-up of what’s left behind and according to the website add some moisture back to the skin. The bottle, the florals inside the bottle, are chef’s kiss to me. The scent is amazing (I know a running theme LOL) and my skin feels calm after using it.

Moisturizer:

Amie Glow & Bright Illuminating Face Moisturizer (a brand in Target, idk if it’s black-owned, I searched and could not find)

This moisturizer is very light-weight and of course smells good. LOL I use a pea-size amount of product, to apply a light layer that will absorb in my skin quickly.

Beauty Oil:

Euphorix Glo Beauty Oil (www.pstru.com

This is my first beauty oil I have ever used, but I think I’m in love!! Because of the frequency and depth I have to clean my face due to applying make-up at least 3 times a week, this replenishes the moisture that’s needed after the cleansing process listed above. The scent…OMG, it’s floral, clean, and relaxing. I place 3 to 4 drops in my hands rub them together and apply in a circular motion, after that I use a jade roller and massage my face, and relax having clean and rejuvenated skin.
